The battery icon in the top right corner of iPhone or iPad shows how much battery you have but it is not a clear enough indicator. Displaying the battery percentage is the only way to know how much battery is exactly left in your iPhone or iPad.
Turning on the battery percentage adds a numerical display of your iPhone battery life. Having the percentage display gives precise indication of how long your iPhone or iPad will run before need to recharge it.
iOS devices do not come with the battery percentage display enabled. However, if you have Low Power Mode on, the battery percentage will always show in the status bar.
How to Display Battery Percentage on iPhone or iPad
To get the battery percentage on your iPhone or iPad follow the below given steps. This will work on iPad Air, iPad Pro, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus.
1. Tap Setting icon
2. Open Battery.
3. Turn on Battery Percentage to show battery percentage in your iPhone.
You will now have a numerical percentage representation of your iPhone battery life along with the generic battery display symbol to the top right corner of the screen.
Battery Percentage on iPhone X
For an iPhone X, you can only see the battery percentage from Control Center. Just swipe down from the top-right corner of display to get the battery percentage.
